The little details.
Everything you might wonder before your visit — and how to keep your piece glimmering long after.
Does it hurt?
Not at all. The weld happens on the chain itself, not your skin — a small piece of paper or a guard sits between the chain and you. You will hear a tiny click and see a little spark, and that is it.
How long does it take?
About fifteen minutes from choosing your chain to walking out welded. Groups take a little longer, which is part of the fun.
Can I take it off?
It is designed to stay on, but it is not a trap. If you ever need to remove it, simply snip the chain at the weld with small scissors and keep the piece — most chains can be re-welded later for a small fee.
What if it breaks?
Gold-filled and sterling chains are durable, but life happens. If your piece breaks within the first two weeks, we will re-weld it free. After that, re-welds are a small flat fee. Hold onto both ends and bring it in.
Can I shower, swim, and sleep in it?
Yes to all three. Gold-filled and sterling are water-safe and made for everyday wear. Rinse with fresh water after the ocean or a pool, and a quick polish keeps it bright.
How do I care for it?
Almost no effort. Avoid harsh chemicals, lotions, and perfume directly on the metal, and give it an occasional gentle polish with a soft cloth. Gold-filled resists tarnish beautifully; sterling may patina over time and shines right back up.
Is it safe for medical scans (MRI)?
Let your technician know you are wearing permanent jewelry. If they ask you to remove it, snip it at the weld and we will happily re-weld it afterward.
What metals do you offer?
14k gold-filled and .925 sterling silver for everyday pieces, plus solid 14k gold by appointment for heirloom pieces. Gold-filled is our most popular — real gold over a sturdy core, at a friendly price.
Can children get permanent jewelry?
We weld minors with a parent or guardian present and consenting. For very young children we may recommend a clasped option for safety — we will talk it through in studio.
How should I pay, and what does it cost?
Pricing starts around $50 and varies by metal, style, and length, plus any charms. Solid gold is market-priced. You choose and we confirm the total before we weld — no surprises. Payment is taken in studio.
